We’re a growing pet food, supply and grooming shop in Homer Glen (143rd and Bell Road). We currently have one full-time groomer, and we are far too busy for just her. We’re looking for a second groomer and will only accept the best. We are not yet able to provide a full-time position, but expect to have a second full-time work load come mid-Spring. The position would start as part-time and grow from there. Since we cannot offer full-time work currently, we would be open to an individual that is working somewhere else, so long as it is not within 10 miles of our store. We pride ourselves on offering a “spa-like” experience for pets while they are in our store. We’re seeking someone that is gentle with pets, takes pride and ownership in their work and that does not take a big-box store done in 45 minutes approach. Our expectations include: Groomer will talk with pet owner both before and after appointment to determine both the customers’ needs and satisfaction. Groomer will bathe pet completely, including face, ears and underbelly. Bath will be thorough and shampoo will be worked into both the hair and skin to ensure total cleanliness. Groomer will dry pet completely with hand dryer. Pets leaving our shop are under no circumstances to leave damp. Groomer should be familiar with and comfortable grooming a wide variety of breeds. A willingness to groom cats would be a plus. Ideally we’re looking for someone with at least 3 years experience. You provide your own hand tools and we provide everything else. If you’re a recent grooming school graduate, we’d be happy to talk with you. However, please understand that, as in every profession, finishing school does not make you an expert. I'm 21 years old & worked at a vet clinic for over 4 years. I started out as a kennel attendant taking care of dogs/cats while owners were away. I've dealt with numerous dogs: arthritic, diabetic, mean, nice, small to really big (sometimes weighing more than me!). I know how to give different kinds of medications if the animal is on any & know how picky they can be as well! :) I also used to be a the groomer (do not have my license yet) so I know how to cut nails, clean ears, & even express anal glands too. I consider every animal that I take care of almost as if it were my own. I have 3 dogs & a cat as well. I've been around animals all my life & wouldn't have it any other way.
