Hello, I'm currently in California's Bay Area, but am relocating to Eugene in December and am available to work within the first week of January. I've been a dog groomer for almost 13 years, the past 4 1/2 at a dog grooming boutique in Los Gatos, CA. I have knowledge of all breeds and breed cuts, but specialize in Shih Tzus, Poodles, Maltese, Yorkies, Bichons, and any mix thereof. The shop I work at now handles quite a few dogs that have been kicked out of other shops for aggressive behavior, so I have a lot of experience in handling "problem" dogs - in fact, I enjoy the challenge. I've been able to refine my scissoring and finishing skills over the years and enjoy the challenge a scissor-finish haircut brings. I am looking for full time work, but will take part time if necessary, and I work for 50% commission. I have my own equipment and can groom 8-10 dogs per day depending on size, breed, etc. I own 3 dogs myself, 2 Shih Tzus and a Yorkie, who I usually bring to work with me every day. While I will be living in Eugene, I'm willing and able to commute up to an hour each way.
